Tinnitus: Alpha Lipoic Acid

I have been taking the Alpha Lipoic Acid recommended by my doctor. I have experienced no new results as of yet. I will keep you posted.

Update: The Alpha Lipoic Acid did not work for me at all.

Has the Alpha Lipoc Acid helped?

So far as I know, the only meds that have shown to be positive in hearing studies (NAC, primarily), are preventatives against hearing LOSS -- so they may not help T.

Medline has a recent study, showing a group of vitamins (beta cartene-A), E, magnesium, C... Guinea pigs give the mixture, were exposed to OUTRAGEOUSLY LOUD noise, then killed, and had their ears "autopsied."

They counted cochlear hairs, and the animals on the MIX, or COCKTAIL, or these vitamins, didn't have as many hair fibers destroyed.

Whether this works with people as well, is anyone's guess.

Also, it may help for hearing LOSS - and not T.

(I'm taking the whole bunch, though, just in case.)
